James Ellis was born in Gawn Street off the Newtownards Road, he went on to do television and film work some of his work has included. Nightingales ( a comedy television show about a group of night shift security guards.) Z cars (a police series from the 60's) To late to talk to Billy (A dramatized play about the troubles in Northern Ireland) No Surrender   (A comedy film about a  group of Protestant and Catholic people from  Northern Ireland). James has also done the voice over for some local videos and the Knight Ride   (A tourist attraction in Carrickfergus all about the history of the town)
