City Cemetery.

The city cemetery is located in the west of the city on the Falls Road and is the burial place of many famous Belfast people including.

Sir Edward Harland.  (1830-1895) Joint owner of the Belfast ship yard.

Viscount Pirrie. (1847-1924)  Ran the Belfast ship yard from 1904.

Thomas Gallagher.  The tobacco manufacturer died 1927

Sir Robert baird. (1885-1934) Proprietor of the Belfast Telegraph.

Sir Samuel Davidson.  Founder of the Sirocco Works.

Sir Robert Mc Mordie. M.P. for east Belfast and was also Lord Mayor for Belfast.

G.F. Inglis. owner of one of the largest bakery and biscuit factories in east Belfast.

There is also a section of the cemetery set aside for the graves of  U.S.A. personnel
who died on the transport ship "Oranto" in 1918.
